In this section, I will be going into the 6 pack abs diet plan, which will be covering the types of foods and supplements that will help in developing your abs in the least amount of time.   If you remember in previous sections, we talked about what happens to the body after a workout and the state that it is in.   What happens after a workout is that the muscle tissues break down and need to take time to recover; this is called the catabolic state.   In order for the muscle tissues to repair quickly, large amounts of protein are required to put the body into an anabolic state or repair state.   This means in order for your abs to grow, you will need to break down the muscles in your midsection and allow it to grow and slowly develop into the well defined 6 pack abs.

Remember that the diet and nutrition account for a large part in your quest to reveal those six pack abs.   Below are a few things you need to keep in mind about the diet when you want to develop your abs.

First meal of the day – When people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, they are absolutely and positively correct about that.  When you are working out to develop your 6 pack abs, a healthy breakfast will give you the energy you need to start your day off right and also help your body to start burning calories.

Six meals a day rule – As with any muscle building routine, don’t forget the rule about having six meals a day.   When you start eating more, your body is kept in a higher metabolic state than you would if you only ate three meals a day.   This way, it will prevent you from overeating as you also have more energy throughout the day.   Basically, you will eat your normal breakfast, lunch and dinner, but in between, you will have some smaller snacks to supplement your normal meals so that your metabolism will be kept at a higher rate.

Eat nutritious power foods – Eating six meals a day is a start to keep your body’s metabolism up, but you must also know the kind of foods you should be eating because eating the wrong kind of foods won’t help much.   Nutritious power foods will keep you fuller and more energetic even though you eat less of it, so that way it helps to accelerate your calorie burn and increase your ability to grow your muscles.   As an example, here are a few power foods you can completely adopt or just gradually add into your diet.   Foods such as nuts, lean meats / fish, green vegetables such as spinach, beans/legumes, berries, whole grain products such as breads, olive oil, oatmeal, eggs and finally supplemental whey protein shakes all are nutritious super power foods that you can incorporate into your 6 pack abs diet plan that will accelerate the development of your abs.

Drink lots of water and get plenty of rest – Last but not least, we can always use more water in our daily diet.   This will keep you hydrated throughout the day and throughout your workout.   Also getting lots of rest will aid in the recovery of your muscles.
